LABB – Loopless and Buckleless Band

With the technology capacity these days, it’s just amazing the things people can make and create. Some of them are reinventing the wheel of really simple things but somehow can enhance your daily life. We are taking a look at the work from Layer, a industrial design agency based in London, UK. They are leading their work across strategy, industrial design and UX/UI.

And let’s take at their project about a minimal Apple Watch band called LABB (Loopless and Buckleless Band) that doesn’t come together like your typical watch band. In their words, it’s an injection-moulded strap and its design is based on an innovative, self-gripping fixing system in which the two halves of the strap intuitively connect along their entire surface, negating the need for additional buckles and loops. Would you wear one? I would intrigued to try one of these!

LABB re-thinks a long-established typology to provide a new, simple and engaging approach to functionality for future generations of smart products.
